Introducing Rotary HERE: The Rotary Club of Hamilton Is Showing Up for Our Schools

There's a saying that's easy to put on a sign and hard to actually live: It takes a village.

The Rotary Club of Hamilton has been part of this village for over 100 years. We've awarded community grants, celebrated Paul Harris Fellows, raised funds through events like the Bourbon & Chocolate Festival, and shown up — again and again — for the people and places that make Hamilton home.

Today, we're showing up for something that sits at the very foundation of every thriving community: our schools.

What Is Rotary HERE?

Rotary HERE — Hamilton Education Resource Enrichment — is a new initiative designed to connect local Hamilton schools directly with the time, talent, and resources of our Rotary membership.

The concept is straightforward: we want schools to tell us what they actually need. Not what we assume they need. Not a generic donation. A real partnership — built around the priorities, challenges, and goals that educators and administrators know best.

For the 2026–27 school year, the Rotary Club of Hamilton will select one to two partner schools to work alongside us. Here's what that partnership looks like:

• A dedicated Rotary liaison — one consistent point of contact from our club, invested in your school's success from day one.

• Committed volunteer hours — a predetermined number of hours from our membership, deployed where your school needs them most.

• At least one joint project — designed around a school-identified need, executed together.

• An end-of-year reflection — a shared look back at what worked, what we learned, and how we move forward stronger.

Why Now?

Hamilton's educators carry enormous weight every day. They stretch limited budgets, navigate complex student needs, and pour themselves into classrooms with an energy that deserves to be matched — not just appreciated from the sidelines.

At Rotary, we don't just believe in Service Above Self. We practice it. Rotary HERE is our way of putting that belief to work in the most direct way possible: by walking through the doors of Hamilton's schools and asking, "How can we help?"

We are People of Action. And the time for action is now.

Who Should Apply?

Any Hamilton-area school is encouraged to apply. Whether you're looking for mentors in the classroom, support for a community garden, help with a literacy initiative, or resources for a student wellness program — if it serves your students and community, we want to hear about it.

The selection process will focus on fit: matching your school's priorities with our club's capabilities and commitment to making a genuine, measurable difference.
